IponWise is an expense tracker made by AppWave Studio. It works entirely on your phone.

What we collect

Nothing. IponWise has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no ads. We never receive your expenses, budgets, goals, padala records, receipts or settings.

Where your data lives

Everything you enter is stored in a database inside the app on your device. Receipt photos are saved in the app's private storage. Uninstalling the app removes it from your phone (see "Android device backup" below for copies your phone may keep). You can delete everything at any time from Me → Your data → Delete all data.

No ads, analytics or crash reporting

IponWise contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting libraries. Nothing is sent to us, including when the app crashes.

Exchange rates

If you turn on Send money home, IponWise downloads today's exchange rate from a free public rate service (currency-api, served through jsDelivr and Cloudflare). The request only asks for the public rate file for your currency (for example "AED rates"). It contains no amounts, no padala records, no account and no device ID. Like any website visit, the service can see your internet address while sending the file. If you don't turn on Send money home, the app makes no network requests at all.

When data leaves your phone

Only when you choose to share it. From the app you can export a CSV of your expenses, a ZIP of your receipt photos, or a JSON backup of all your data. The app creates the file on your phone and opens your phone's share sheet, and you decide where it goes (a cloud drive, email, another app or a local folder). IponWise itself uploads nothing.

Restoring a backup

You can restore from a JSON backup file by picking it yourself. The file is read on your phone.

Android device backup

Android's system backup is usually turned on by default. When it is on, Android may copy IponWise's data, including your database and receipt photos, to your Google account backup, and may restore it if you reinstall the app or set up a new phone. This is managed by your phone's settings and Google, not by IponWise or AppWave Studio, and IponWise never sees or receives that copy. You can turn it off in your phone's backup settings (usually Settings → Google → Backup).

Device features

• Camera and photos: only when you choose to attach a receipt. You take a photo or pick each image yourself; the app does not browse your gallery. Receipt photos are not read, analysed or uploaded.
• Internet: only to download today's exchange rate, and only if you turn on Send money home (see "Exchange rates" above).
• Notifications: only for reminders you turn on. They are scheduled on the device. IponWise also asks to run at start-up so your reminders come back after your phone restarts.
• Face ID / fingerprint: only if you turn on app lock. Biometric data is handled by your phone's operating system and is never seen by IponWise.
• Home screen widget: if you add it, it shows a summary from your on-device data on your home screen. It is not sent anywhere.

Children

IponWise is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
